Mother’s Day Flower Pot Card

Mother’s Day is the perfect time for children to show appreciation for special women in their lives. This year, celebrate Mother’s Day with a heartfelt and creative Mother’s Day card that children can make themselves! This Flower Pot Mother’s Day Card is not only a beautiful token of gratitude but also a fun and engaging activity for children to enjoy.

Making the Flower Pot Card

To start, gather the materials needed for this activity: construction paper, scissors, glue, markers or colored pencils, hole punch, and ribbons.

The card is designed to resemble a flower pot, with the front flap opening up to reveal the message inside.

  1. Begin by writing a special message on the card. Encourage children to express their love and gratitude in their own words. Children can also color the pictures and decorate the inside and outside of the card with their drawings.
  2. Cut out the flower pot shape by following the dotted lines. Then, fold the flower pot on the solid middle line to create the card.
  3. Glue the flower pot on construction paper. Then, glue the message directly over the flower pot outline already pasted on the page. Note: The sides of the construction paper may need to be cut to allow for the hole punching in the next step.
  4. Punch holes over the circles outlined on the cover of the flower pot. Thread string through the holes and tie a ribbon to hold the card together (and add a decorative touch!).

This Flower Pot Mother’s Day Card is more than just a craft project – it’s a meaningful way for children to express their love and appreciation for their moms and/or other women in their lives. As they work on their cards, encourage children to reflect on what makes their moms special and how much they mean to them.

Mother’s Day is a time to honor and celebrate the incredible women who nurture and support us everyday. Let’s make this Mother’s Day extra special by celebrating the amazing moms in our lives!
